  Hi my name is Sharla Hill and I am the founder of Ragdoll Rescue NW.
This rescue was started in Sept. of 2003, and I have not had the time to look back! I had no idea what I was doing, all I knew was that someone had to help and I could not see in all my searching and emailing that there was anyone out there that was being very effective in Rescuing Ragdoll's! So I thought I would give it a go. I started a yahoo club and asked people to join, I joined every group,

list or board I found that had to do with Ragdoll's, rescue or transport! I found a
few dedicated volunteers out of all those groups, some just love cats, some have been in rescue for a while.
 I currently live in Salem OR. with my family.
A few years ago I decided to adopt 2 ragdoll kittens from a breeder in Portland after being told that Ragdolls were never found in rescue! Well sadly that was not true, as I soon found out. After having my Ragdolls for a few months I just could not think of any cat as gentle and sweet as a Ragdoll ending up in a shelter so I started this rescue. I jumped in with both feet and started a yahoo group.
I did not intend to foster as I already had 6 cats of my own but soon found out that cats can not be saved from kill shelters unless the foster homes are available and they aren't so I ended up fostering with a lot of financial help from my great members who donate. If it were not for them I could not afford to help so many cats in need!
