Memorial

A place to remember the ones who are no longer with us
or have been a victim of tragic circumstances.

Song "Angel" being sung by Sharla Hill.

"Andy" Born: 6/22/04 - Passed away: 12/24/04
Found abandoned and near death at one month old, Andy had a rough start in life. But he was determined to be a survivor, and for his six months on earth, did his best to thrive. His right eye was missing, but that never slowed him down. His vet nicknamed him "Little Bird Legs" because that's all he had at first. But despite the odds, he grew and played, and filled our lives with joy and love.

In mid-December his always-tenuous health began to fail, and despite force-feedings, fluids, and 24/7 care, Andy slowly lost his hold on life. Finally the day came when he refused to eat for me, and he "asked" me to let him go. He was diagnosed with FIP and passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Christmas Eve 2004.

I adopted Andy on July 29, 2004; the five months we shared together weren't nearly long enough. Andy had a special spirit about him; he loved all our other cats and they loved him -- his loving presence will be with us always.

"Jinx" Passed away: 10/07
Poor little Jinx came from a Wyoming home that had 45-50 cats that were being bred for sale. Most were Persian and Himalayan mixes. There was so much inbreeding that many of the 15 we rescued had chronic health issues. Jinx had the most health problems of all. She had chronic upper respiratory problems to the point of always having a runny nose and eyes. She was not able to smell very well so she couldn't groom her long coat or eat as much as she should. She also was dealt the blow of having Stomatitis.
"Honey" Passed away: 01/09
Honey came from WY with Jinx, Wren and Macy. She was extremely shy; when she first came to us it was very hard to touch her. With us rescuing so many (15) from WY at one time we had to get them altered a few at a time. Two months to the day that we rescued her, she surprised us with 3 kittens! One didn't make it, the other two went on to the same fantastic home! But as it is with most Moms no one showed interest in her because she was older and was shy. Honey was very sweet however, but she never did trust easily.
benny "Benny" Passed away: 09/10/09
Benny came to us from a kill shelter in Washington. He was picked up as a stray. He had been beat up and was underweight due to the fact he was declawed on all four paws. He could not fend for himself with no claws even though he is a huge pure bred Bengal! He weighed 14 pounds then and was skinny. We had hoped he would be adoptable but we soon found out he was a sprayer, making it almost impossible to adopt out. He had a lot of referred pain from the declawing and the transfer of weight that cats do when they are declawed causes them to alter their gait putting added stress on joints. He cannot jump higher than 12 inches easily and falls often when jumping and it breaks my heart. "Learn about declawing here"
Benny's death was a shock to us, but he is no longer in pain, he is missed soooooooo much! You have a special place in our hearts forever!
